SUNDAY'S sermon

Sunday, May 11, 2025

The Good News is centered around the life, death and resurrection of Jesus – what He did on our behalf. Again and again, we see in the Early Church, sharing THAT Good News – clearly and consistently – leads to several outcomes. These stories we read about in the Book of Acts aren’t the only stories we have about God’s Good News being told and lived out. God continually works through His people in countless ways, using everyday situations and unexpected opportunities to spread the Gospel—both in word and in deed. That mission didn’t stop with the Early Church; it carries on today, in our communities, workplaces, and beyond, as we take part in His story and extend His love to the world.

an article for reference

As mentioned in worship Sunday, May 11, we wanted to offer a link to credible details related to refugees from Afghanistan, as well as how these details differ from the families Grand Valley churches have been sponsoring through The Grand Valley Resettlement Program for the last 3-4 years.  Our families are not affected but approximately 9,000 people from Afghanistan will be in the coming weeks and months.

The Lord's prayer

Sermon series starting june 2025

This summer, following the conclusion of The Story, we will explore The Lord's Prayer verse by verse seeking to more deeply embody this prayer we so often recite in worship. Each week, we will consider a phrase of the prayer exploring themes such as God's will, daily provision, forgiveness, and more.

Through this series, we’ll discover how The Lord’s Prayer is more than a familiar passage - it is a prayer that shapes our hearts, guides our actions, and calls us into a deeper faith transforming our daily lives.
